Every account includes 50 pages each calendar month at no charge. After that you spend prepaid credits, or optionally enable metered billing with a hard daily cap. Nothing is described as free beyond that monthly allowance.

Hard caps
Per-key rate limit (default 60 req/min) and a daily spend cap (default $20). Monthly page cap default 5,000. No surprise invoices.
Prepaid credit packs
Purchased through Stripe Checkout. Auto-refill is off unless you turn it on.

Optional Stripe Billing Meters for pay-as-you-go after credits. Metered billing stays off until you enable it in the dashboard. Sales tax is not collected until Stripe Tax is configured by the owner.
